Specific Data List Window
The Specific Data List window provides for importing and exporting part data into the parameters shown in the Prediction Data pane. This window opens when you click Edit List on the Select Field Assignments page in the Import Wizard or the Select Data Fields page in the Export Wizard. This button is shown only in two cases:
When {Specific Data} is selected for Data field on the Select Field Assignments page during importing.
When {Specific Data} is selected as one of the fields to export on the Select Data Fields page during exporting.
In the Specific Data List window, you make selections in the following fields: Model, Category, Subcategory, and Field. First, you pick the model, category, and subcategory (or < Any Subcategory > to choose all subcategories). In the Field list, all parameters that are normally available in the Prediction Data pane are shown.
For < Any Subcategory >, fields from all subcategories are shown in the Field list. A field is removed only if it has difference choices, depending on the subcategory. For example, choices for Type depend on the subcategory. If a field is duplicated but has the same choice across all subcategories, it is included in the Field list.
You can insert one field for each model, category, and subcategory combination for the import/export column. To transfer all of the parameters in the Prediction Data pane at once, you have to add {Specific Data} to the import or export multiple times.
Example
Assume that you wanted to import and export every possible part supported by a particular calculation model. On the Select Field Assignments or Select Data Fields page, you select Category and Subcategory. However, these two fields alone typically do not provide enough information. Thus, you must also select Type, which is often a parameter in the Prediction Data pane. To do this, you select {Specific Data} and then click Edit List to open the Specific Data List window.
In the Specific Data List window, you specify the appropriate model and then start through the category and subcategory lists, selecting each possible category/subcategory combination and then looking for Type in the Field list to the right. If Type is present, double-click it to add it to the Fields included list. Once you work your way through all of the category/subcategory combinations, you have all category, subcategory and type fields. You then save your settings to an Import/Export Template file so that you can use it to import data into a System file.
