Report Sections
A Report Design file always has five sections: Report Header, Page Header, Details, Page Footer, and Report Summary. Additionally, it can have Group Headers and Group Footers, which group and sort data by values for specified fields. For more information, see Report Section Descriptions.
Sections are shown on the left side of the Report Design file. You can collapse and expand sections by clicking the minus and plus signs to the left of the section headings.
Clicking the minus sign (-) collapses the view so that the section is no longer visible.
Clicking the plus sign (+) expands the view so that the section becomes visible.
These buttons for collapsing and expanding sections are for your convenience when designing longer and more complicated reports. They do not affect the printed output in any way.
A report object must be fully contained in one section. When you insert an object, it cannot span sections. While you cannot drag an object from one section to another, you can use the Move to Section command to move an object from one section to another section. For more information, see Reporting How-Tos.
