Customizing Commands on Shortcut Menus
Shortcut menus are the menus that appear when you right-click in a window. You can customize a shortcut menu using the Menu tab in the Customize window. For example, you can add the Calculate command to almost any shortcut menu.
1. To open the Customize window, right-click in the toolbar area and select Customize.
2. Click the Menu tab.
The options under Application Frame Menus provide for selecting the file or entity with which the shortcut menu is used. The options under Context Menus provide for selecting the shortcut menu.
3. For Show Menus for, select the file or entity with which the shortcut menu is used.
4. For Select context menu, select the shortcut menu. The shortcut menu appears in a floating window on your desktop.
For example, if the default menu is selected and System Tree Shortcut Menu is selected for the context menu, it appears in a floating window on your desktop.
5. To add a command to the shortcut menu, do the following:
a. Click the Commands tab.
b. In the Categories list, select the menu containing the command. Choosing All Commands provides for selecting from all commands.
c. In the Commands list, click and drag the command to where you want to insert it in the menu shown in the floating window. Providing that the command can be added to this shortcut menu, it is added.
6. To remove a command from a shortcut menu, in the floating window in which it is shown, click and drag the command out of the floating window. As long as you release the mouse button outside the floating window, the command is removed.
7. To set an animation and/or shadow, do the following:
a. Click the Menu tab.
b. For Menu animations, select Unfold, Slide, or Fade to set an animation. The default is None to indicate that no menu animation is set.
c. Select or clear Menu shadows to indicate whether you want to show shadows. This checkbox is selected by default.
8. To reset menu defaults, do the following:
a. To reset the currently selected shortcut menu, in the Context Menus area, click Reset. Otherwise, to reset all shortcut menus associated with the selected file or entity, in the Application Frame Menus area, click Reset.
A confirmation window opens.
b. Click Yes.
9. When finished, click Close.
