Changing Parent Assignments During a Prediction Update Import
You can move parts and assemblies when performing all types of prediction update imports. The search algorithm for a parent item is as follows:
• Parent Assembly field
◦ System Tree Identifier field
◦ Primary System display field (Part Number by default)
◦ Secondary System display field (Name by default)
• Level field (can be modified only during an add update and not an import update)
It is recommended that you import based on Parent Assembly and use System Tree Identifier as the imported text. Because the System Tree identifier must be unique, you do not have to worry about confusing two assemblies. If you import based on another field such as Name, and two assemblies have the same name, then the assembly inserted last (second) is used.
