Calculating and Viewing Results
You select the calculations to run in the Calculate window. On the pages in this window, you specify calculation properties. You can run standard module-specific calculations as well as custom user-defined calculations that have been inserted in the Project’s Calculation file.
1. To open the Calculate window, do one of the following:
On the standard toolbar, click Calculate.
Select System > Calculate.
Press F8.
You use the navigation pane on the left to select the page on which to specify calculation properties.
2. Complete the appropriate pages in the Calculate window. Selected user-defined calculations run in the order you have specified on the User Defined page.
3. When finished, click OK. All of the properties that you have specified are stored as the defaults for the next time that you open the Calculate window.
The auto-hide Calculation Progress window opens in docked mode, displaying the progress made as calculations run. You can continue to work in the System file if you want. However, you cannot close the file while the calculation is running.
Once the calculation finishes, the View Calculation Results window opens, displaying system-level results. If multiple types of calculations were run, you use the navigation pane on the left to select the page with the results you want to view. FMEA results are visible only in the System file.
4. When finished, click OK.
If you want to view these results again, you can open the View Calculation Results window. For more information, see Viewing Calculated System Level Results.
