Backup User Options (Team Edition Only)
The following table describes the user options that appear under Backup in the Options window. These options appear only in the Team Edition.
*
In the Enterprise Edition, the maximum number of automatic backup files to store is a global user option specified in the Options window in the Administrator application.
Option
Description
Automatic backup creation
Indicates whether to back up a Team file before opening it. When this checkbox is selected (default), Team files are automatically backed up.
Maximum number of automatic backups
The largest number of automatic backups to store for a file. The default is 5. However, you can specify any number. Manual backups are not included in this count. If automatic backups exceed the maximum number specified, the oldest backups are deleted until the maximum number is reached. In both the Enterprise Edition and Team Edition, an automatic backup is made when you create a new singular support file, build a FMEA Fault Equivalence file, or restore a backup file. In the Team Edition, when the above option is selected, an automatic backup is made when you open a Team file. In the Enterprise Edition, the Automatic backup creation option does not exist. However, when you open a Team file in the Enterprise Edition, an automatic backup is made by copying the file to the Backups folder.

You can view both the automatic and manual backups that exist for any file in the Project properties. For more information, see Viewing Existing Backup Files.
