Advanced Options Window
The Advanced Options window for exporting custom user prompts opens when you click Advanced Options on the Save Template page of the Export Wizard. This button is shown only when FMEA or FRACAS data is being exported to a target file in the Microsoft Excel or Access format or in the XML format.
Use prompts from the Data Definition file for export controls whether user prompts are exported.
When this checkbox is cleared (default), default field names are exported.
When this checkbox is selected, user prompts are exported.
When you click OK, you return to the Save Template page, which you then complete as described in the last few steps in Starting the Export Wizard and Exporting Data.
When user prompts are exported, prompts not meeting database rules are modified as summarized below.
Prompts cannot contain more than 64 characters. Any prompt with more than 64 characters is truncated.
Prompts cannot contain any spaces. Any spaces are replaced with underscores.
Prompts cannot contain any special characters. Special characters are removed and replaced with a blank space. Special characters include the following: ! [ ] \ , . ? : ( ) % / ‘- #
Prompts cannot be Excel function names. If one of the hundreds of Excel function names is used as a prompt, such as Sum or Index, an Excel error message appears during the export, indicating that syntax errors exist in field definitions. In such a case, no data is exported to the Excel file.
