Part Category Conversions
In versions prior to Relex Studio 2007 v2, a part category of Other existed. To make part entry more intuitive, the Other part category was removed. When converting files created prior to Studio 2007 v2, parts assigned to the Other category are reassigned as indicated in the table below.

The conversion of the former category/subcategory combination of Other/Generic Devices is handled based on the calculation model and part type:
• If the calculation model is not 217Plus or PRISM, the part is mapped to a part classification/category/subcategory of User-Defined/Other/Generic Device. This applies to System files, FMEA Modes Library files, and Prediction Parts Library files. These part records are dropped from Prediction Defaults and Derating files because these files cannot have user-defined parts.
• If the calculation model is 217Plus or PRISM, the part is mapped to a part type as shown in the following table. This applies to System files, FMEA Modes Library files, and Prediction Parts Library files. These part records are dropped from Prediction Defaults files because the records in these files are not based on part type. Thus, if part records were converted, they would affect all parts in the destination subcategory.
