LSAR Table Format
The format of the data in an LSAR file is outlined in the MIL-STD-1388 2B LSAR document. LSAR files are text files consisting of a series of lines. Each line is formatted according to the LSAR table format, which is outlined below.
Long text entries can span multiple lines. In this situation, text is broken into 65-character long blocks and exported on sequential lines. The line count is increased by one each time a new line is exported.
All lines except for those formatted for Table BL begin with the data described in the following table. Subsequent topics describe the remaining data and the format for Table BL.

UPDATE CODE
Defined by the Update code field in the Generate LSAR File window. The default is blank.

TABLE DESIGNATION
Always set to the table designation (BA, BB, and so on).

END ITEM ACRONYM CODE
Defined by the End acronym code field in the Generate LSAR File window. The default is blank.

LSA CONTROL NUMBER (LCN)
Defined by the Logistics Control Number (LCN) field in the System Tree Items table. The default is P.

ALTERNATE LCN CODE
Defined by the FMEA Table field selected for the Alternate LCN (ALC) field in the Generate LSAR File window. The default is 00.

LCN TYPE
Defined by the System Tree Items field selected for the Description field in the Generate LSAR File window. The value for this field must be either an F or P. If the first letter in the selected field is not an F or P, the default is P.
