FMEA Mode Table BG
The following table describes the data that always appears in characters 36 through 39 of the FMEA Mode Table BG. The data in the remaining columns depends on the value in character 40. A set of rows is outputted for each failure mode in the FMEA Worksheet table.

FAILURE MODE INDICATOR
Always set to F.

MODE NUMBER
If the Mode number field in the Generate LSAR File window is set to < Automatically generated > , the modes are numbered from 1 to n for each mode associated with an item. If a field from the FMEA Worksheet table is selected, the first three characters in this field are used. A common numbering scheme is 1A1, where:
The first character represents the item
The second character represents each unique failure mode for each item
The third character represents the cause of failure for each failure mode
The following table describes the data that appears in characters 40 through 110 when the narrative code in character 40 is set to F.

FAILURE MODE AND RCM NARRATIVE CODE
Set to F. The narrative describes the methods by which the occurrence of a failure mode is detected.
41-45
FAILURE MODE NARRATIVE TEXT SEQUENCING CODE
Set to a sequence number beginning with 00001 that indicates the line number of the following narrative text.
46-110
FAILURE MODE NARRATIVE
Displays the value for the Failure Detection Method field from the mode in the FMEA Worksheet table. If the field is blank or not at the mode level in the FMEA hierarchy, this table (BG with code set to F) is not printed. If text is present, it is broken into multiple lines, with a maximum of 65 characters per line.
The following table describes the data that appears in characters 40 through 110 when the narrative code in character 40 is set to H.

FAILURE MODE AND RCM NARRATIVE CODE
Set to H. The narrative states a condition related to the failure mode that is not readily identified in a given data element.
41-45
FAILURE MODE NARRATIVE TEXT SEQUENCING CODE
Set to a sequence number beginning with 00001 that indicates the line number of the following narrative text.
46-110
FAILURE MODE NARRATIVE
Displays the value for the Remarks field from the mode in the FMEA Worksheet table. If the field is blank or not at the mode level in the FMEA hierarchy, this table (BG with code set to H) is not printed. If text is present, it is broken into multiple lines, with a maximum of 65 characters per line.

Set to a sequence number beginning with 00001 that indicates the line number of the following narrative text.
46-110
FAILURE MODE NARRATIVE
Displays the value for the End Effect field from the mode in the FMEA Worksheet table. If the field is blank or not at the mode level in the FMEA hierarchy, this table (BG with code set to A) is not printed. If text is present, it is broken into multiple lines, with a maximum of 65 characters per line.

Set to a sequence number beginning with 00001 that indicates the line number of the following narrative text.
46-110
FAILURE MODE NARRATIVE
Displays the value for the Local Effect field from the mode in the FMEA Worksheet table. If the field is blank or not at the mode level in the FMEA hierarchy, this table (BG with code set to B) is not printed.
