Converting a Prior Project in Real Time
You can convert a single Project from Relex 7.7 or later to a Team Project in real time by opening the Project in Windchill Risk and Reliability 12.0.0.0. During this conversion process, the prior Project is kept intact.
An “on-the-fly” conversion of a Project always results in the new Windchill Risk and Reliability 12.0.0.0 Team Project being created in the My Windchill Risk and Reliability Files folder for the current installation in your local documents folder. The default path is My Windchill Quality Solutions Files\12.0. You cannot change the destination directory when the conversion is initiated by opening the file in Windchill Risk and Reliability 12.0.0.0. During this type of conversion, backup files are not converted.
1. To start the “on-the-fly conversion” of a single prior Project in real time, open the prior Project to convert.
For a prior Team Project, you can open it using any of the standard ways for opening a Team Project.
For a Relex 7.7 Project, select File > Open > Relex 7.7 Project.
You can only select a Relex 7.7 Project. You cannot open a Relex 7.7 support file. However, when a Relex 7.7 Project is converted, all support files that this Project references are also converted.
A window opens, asking whether you want to convert the Project file from the version in which it was designed to the current version.
2. Click OK. Status information is shown as the Project is converted.
When the conversion finishes, the Conversion Complete window opens. From this window, you can view, save, or print processing information. For more information, see Conversion Status Information.
3. When you finish viewing processing information, in the Conversion Complete window, click OK.
