Object Broker Service
The Object Broker Service hosts four different servers, all of you which you can load balance:
• Relex.BusinessObjects.Service
◦ Supports the Relex.BusinessObjects.IService contract
◦ Responsible for the bulk of read/write operations to the database
• Relex.Windchill.WindchillIntegrationServer
◦ Supports the Relex.Windchill.IWindchillIntegrationServer contract
◦ Responsible for simple (as opposed to long-running and/or repeated) communication with the Application Server configured in Windchill Risk and Reliability Administrator
• Relex.Security.SecurityServer
◦ Supports the Relex.Security.IAccessManager contract
◦ Supports the Relex.Security.IUserGroupManager contract
◦ Responsible for authentication, permissions checking, and user and group management
The preceding information is available in the server-side configuration file that gets installed with Windchill Risk and Reliability: RiskandReliability.Service.ObjectBroker.exe. You can load balance this entire set of servers all together. You do not need to separate these servers when load balancing the Object Broker Service.
