Setting Up and Assigning Global Start Pages to Groups
In the Start Pages area, you set up global Start pages, which are custom pages that you want to assign to one or more user groups. The global page assigned to a group is always the first page in the Start Page window in the desktop applications.
1. In the shortcut bar, click Start Pages. The Start Pages pane displays the list of available pages. You can select an existing page or insert a new one
2. If you want to insert a page, do one of the following:
To insert a page that is a copy of the supplied default page, click Click here to insert a new record.
To insert a page that is a copy of an existing page, right-click the page and select Copy and then right-click again and select Paste.
The new page is inserted.
3. To customize the page, do the following in the Design pane on the right:
a. If you want to rename the page, enter the new name for Title. The page name must be unique.
b. If you do not see the customization area, which displays the Content and Layout tabs, click Customize in the upper right corner to display this area.
c. Set up and lay out the page. While you insert and name a global page differently than a personal page, you set up controls and lay it out in exactly the same way as a personal page. For more information, see “Working with Personal Start Pages” in the help or guide for the desktop application.
d. If you want to hide the customization area to better see what the page looks like, click Customize in the upper right corner. Clicking this option switches between hiding and showing the customization area.
4. When you are finished setting up the page, in the Groups pane, select the one or more groups to which you want to assign this page from all those groups defined in the Users and LDAP Users areas.
A group cannot have more than one global page assigned to it. If no global page is assigned to a group, then the supplied default page is shown as the first page in the Start Page window in the desktop application.

You can also specify the global page that a particular group is to see in the Groups area. For more information, see Specifying the Start Page for a Group.
