Restoring an Existing Database
You can use the New Database Wizard to restore an existing Windchill Risk and Reliability database. This is generally done when the Enterprise Edition is uninstalled and then reinstalled on either the same machine or a different machine.
1. On the application server, go to the installation directory. The path is probably:
C:\Program Files (x86)\PTC\Windchill Risk and Reliability 12.0\Windchill Risk and Reliability
2. Double-click the RiskandReliability.Install.Enterprise file. The New Database Wizard starts and displays the Create Database page, which provides options for creating a new database or restoring an existing database.
3. Select Restore an existing database and click Next. The Database Server Name and Type page appears so that you can indicate where the existing database is located.
a. For Server name, enter the name of the server where the existing database resides.
b. For Database type, indicate whether the type of the database. Choices are Oracle or SQL Server.
4. Click Next. The Windchill Risk and Reliability Login page appears. You must supply the user account information that provides Windchill Risk and Reliability components access to this database.
a. For User name, enter the Windchill Risk and Reliability user account that was specified during the initial creation of the database.
b. For Password, enter the password for this user account, keeping in mind that passwords are case-sensitive.
5. Click Next. The Wizard Complete page appears.
6. Click Finish to restore the database.
