Deleting a Windchill Risk and Reliability Database
You can delete a Windchill Risk and Reliability database from the Databases area only if multiple databases exist. The deletion of a Windchill Risk and Reliability database requires the presence of your DBA (database administrator) because a DBA user name and password must be entered. The DBA user name and password are different from the system administrator user name and password specified within the Administrator application. The DBA for an Oracle or SQL Server database is specified within the security information saved on the Oracle or SQL Server database server.
The creation of an additional database requires the presence of your DBA (database administrator) because a DBA username and password must be entered. The DBA username and password are different from the system administrator username and password specified within the Administrator application. The DBA for an Oracle or SQL server database is specified within the security information saved on the server for that database.
1. If the Databases area is not active, click the Databases icon in the shortcut bar.
2. In the Databases pane, right-click the database you want to delete and select Delete.
The Delete Database window opens. A note indicates that you cannot undo the deletion of a database. A description of the database you have selected to delete is then provided.
3. If you want to continue, you must enter DBA account information:
a. For DBA user name, enter the name of the account used to log in to the database server. This user account must have sufficient privileges to delete databases or tablespaces and user accounts (log-ins).
b. For Password, enter the password for this user account.
c. If you want to delete the Windchill Risk and Reliability user account associated with this database, leave the Delete Windchill Risk and Reliability user-login checkbox selected. Otherwise, clear this checkbox.
4. When finished, click OK.
After the database is removed successfully, a window opens, indicating this. When you click in the Databases area, it refreshes so that the deleted database is no longer shown.
