Extending BOM Equivalences
In some scenarios, you want to extend an existing assembly’s BOM equivalences, such as equivalent parts and views, to a different assembly. For example, if you have assigned different views to different plants (PlantView_001, PlantView_002), you can use this action to move production of an assembly from one plant to the other.
To extend BOM equivalences to another view:
1. Select the original downstream assembly.
2. Click the Selected Menu.
3. Select Extend BOM Equivalence.
The New Branch with Associative BOM Links window appears.
4. In the Downstream View column, select the view to which you want to extend BOM equivalence to.

To duplicate all associated process plans and relate them to the selected assembly, set the Duplicate Process Plan column to Yes.
The newly created process plans appear in the new view that you selected.

5. Click OK.

To extend BOM equivalence to multiple assemblies, click > . A search window appears that can be used to display multiple assemblies. Select each assembly that you would like to extend BOM equivalences to.
