About the Set Configuration Specification Action in the BOM Transformer
The
Set Configuration Specification action is available in the middle pane toolbar of the BOM Transformer. The
Set Configuration Specification dialog box opens when you click
Set Configuration Specification.
The following two sections are available in the Set Configuration Specification dialog box:
• Capture Changes in ECN—You can enter the change task number in the
Change Number field of this section. Once you enter the change task number, the system captures the changes in parts and resources in the BOM Transformer. For example, the changes can be an adding a new part or resource, revising or modifying an existing part or resource. For more information, see
Capturing ECN Changes.
• Discrepancies Search Criteria—Use this section to directly access and modify configuration specifications for upstream and downstream views, in place of using Edit Filter. You can also select variant specifications. The settings configured or modified in Set Configuration Specification dialog box are synced to Edit Filter, which means if you modify a filter criterion in Edit Filter, those are updated in the Set Configuration Specification and vice-a-versa.
You can use the Change Number field in this section to set up the ECN context. When you enter a change task number in this field, the system starts to review the changes related to the ECN. You can also use this field to apply the ECN filter.
The values configured in the following preferences determine the functioning of the Set Configuration Specification:
• Allow Plant-Specific Filtering in BOM Transformer/SAPSB
• List of Applicable Variant Specifications
• List of Plant-Specific Views
