Object initialization rules determines the default attribute values for an object type. Defining a life cycle through the object initialization rule means that every time a new object is created, it is automatically associated with the selected template.

You can allow users to manually select a life cycle at object creation time. Like the default life cycle template, this functionality is also configured through the object initialization rule.

The Reassign Life Cycle action is available to administrators working from a Windchill PDMLink context.

You can use this action to change the life cycle associated with an existing object.
