Using the Object Collector
Depending on how many objects you select and whether they are included in a structure, the Collect Objects and Set Options table can be complex and difficult to navigate.
However, the steps for using the table are simple:
1. Ensure the Current Settings status is appropriate and that you do not want to create a new custom table view.
|
You want to do this first, because if you reset the table or create a new table view, any actions you have performed in the table are lost. Changing the filter could add or remove multiple objects at once. For more information, see Table View and Columns.
|
2. Collect any related objects that you want to include.
If an object is related to other objects, then those objects might be collected and added to the table by default. If objects are not collected by default and you want to include them, select the checkboxes next to their related objects in the table rows. Click the collection actions on the table toolbar.
3. Remove any related objects that you do not want to include.
If an object is collected that you do not want to include, select the checkboxes next to the objects you want to remove. Click the removal actions on the table toolbar.
4. Determine what action should be completed on each object.
Once you have the table populated with the objects you want to collect, you can use the sharing actions on the table toolbar to determine what action is completed on each object. For example, you might have multiple objects in the table, but you only want to perform a PDM checkout operation on one and then share the rest.
5. Click OK to complete the actions.
|
Only the objects visible in the Collect Objects and Set Options table are included when you click OK. If you use the table view or actions to hide certain objects to make viewing the table easier, then those objects ignored.
This does not apply to objects hidden within collapsed structure nodes.
