A transaction is a record of the activities that are the result of publishing a Windchill solution object. The following Windchill solution objects are publishable: component parts, documents, manufacturing objects (process plans and resources), bills of material and their associated substitutes, line numbers, reference designators, and change notices.

Transactions administration allows a user or administrator to enter search criteria to locate information on one or more transactions. Users can access transactions that they initiated; administrators can see all transactions by accessing the Enterprise Systems Transaction Administration utility. Administrators can also edit or mark for deletion any transaction in a failed or pending state that has been submitted to ERP but does not appear to have succeeded.
