Visualizing Windchill MPMLink Objects in Creo View
Windchill MPMLink objects can be visualized using Creo View. Creo View is a visualization tool that allows viewing of 3D models, 2D drawings, documents, and images, without requiring access to the application that created the data. This allows you to analyze the product design, create annotations, take measurements, and obtain information about specific parts of a product structure, as well as see what a specific process plan assembly looks like.
For more information on how to use Creo View features, refer to the Creo View online help.
To visualize manufacturing objects, navigate to the information page of the object and select the Structure tab, and then the Visualization sub-tab.
*
Visualization tabs can also be found in the Tree Picker and Associative Part Structure Browsers.
The following Windchill MPMLink objects can be viewed in the Visualization tab:
Parts and operated on parts that been allocated to a process plan or operation
Resources allocated to a process plan
Resources and parts allocated to an operation
Parts that have been allocated to a downstream BOM
Parts that have not been added to a downstream BOM
The Visualization tab and Creo View can be used to perform numerous manufacturing tasks, including:
Creating and displaying illustrations in work instructions: Creo View can be used to create and annotate representations of parts or operations, which are then displayed in an operations dynamically generated work instruction.
A manufacturing analysis: Creo View can be used to view parts, resources and operations, and to perform an analysis of how these parts, resources and operations can be used together. For example, measurements can be taken, and engineering annotations can be verified.
Creating, Windchill MPMLink object representations: Representations for Windchill MPMLink objects (parts, resources and process plans) can be created.
Viewing representations: Windchill MPMLink objects can be viewed in Creo View, and can then be modified or annotated.
Creating an mBOM: A manufacturing BOM or mBOM, can be created using BOM Transformer and Creo View, by selecting the appropriate engineering parts from the browser.
Consuming parts in an operation: Parts can be selected and then allocated to an operation in the Process Plan Browser, or structure pane of the Visualization tab.
Saving Annotations for Representations: Annotations for parts, resources and process plans can be saved.
Viewing allocated parts and resources: View the parts and resources that have been allocated to an operation.
