About Support for Image Links in MPMLink
The image link feature helps you to show different representations of the same CAD part in the context of different assemblies in the BOM Transformer and Process Plan Browser (PPB).
In the BOM Transformer, you can copy the image link associations from the upstream view to the downstream view by using the following actions:
New Downstream Part
New Downstream Branch
Duplicate
Assemble As
In BOM Transformer, Image link support is available for actions that perform
BOM Transformation As It Is.
*
Only in this case, process planning is supported.
BOM Transformation with New Branch actions
BOM Transformation with New Part actions
As stated earlier, you can see the process plan entities related to the image links only when you do BOM Transformation as it is. That is, process planning is supported only when you transform the BOM using actions such as Assemble As Is, Paste As Is, and so on.
*
In the case of a process plan, the system will provide support for the image link feature for the part allocation at any level. You are not required to allocate the part from where the feature starts. If the image link feature is on the assembly level, you must allocate the entire assembly. If the image link feature is on the leaf level, you can allocate only the leaf node for the image link feature to work.
You cannot use the image link feature with actions such as New Manufacturing Process Context, Paste As Operated On, and so on.
