Part Versions
A part has one or more part versions that capture a unique implementation of the part as it changes over time. Because all part versions have the same form, fit, and function, any version can be used in an assembly calling for the part. The unique information about a part version includes its attribute values, relationship to data, and part structure.
For more information, see:
Part versions are labeled with a revision, an iteration, and a part structure view. Following is an example that shows a letter for the revision, a number for the iteration, and the part structure view in parentheses. All three are required to identify a part version; however, your company might use a different version identification scheme.
For more information about defining part version schemes, see Object Versioning.
