Managing NX References
Windchill Workgroup Manager for NX supports the following NX relations:
Interpart Wave-linked objects and geometry
Interpart expressions
The following table shows the NX related references and how they are displayed in Windchill:

Managing References When Saving NX Models to Windchill
Action
Behavior
Import to Workspace or Save to Workspace for an NX model not stored in Windchill
When a model is opened from a local directory and saved or imported to a workspace for the first time, Workgroup Manager tries to find reference dependents and assembly dependencies from the local folder from where the seed object is selected and from NX search folders.
Benefit: This helps find reference models and manage the references in Windchill.
Subsequent save for an NX model already stored in Windchill
Workgroup Manager does not fetch reference dependents to an NX session on a subsequent save.
Benefits:
This gives better performance upon subsequent save, especially when many dependent models are in the workspace but are not loaded.
This may reduce unnecessary Wave license usage.
Creating reference links in Windchill:
A relationship link is created in Windchill when the dependents are loaded in NX session with the save action.
A relationship link is not created if the dependent is not loaded when the save action is performed. Workgroup Manager does not forcefully load dependents on save.
To define a Wave link relationship in Windchill, you must load the reference models along with the large model in an NX session before save.

The following Wave feature links are not supported:
Product and Manufacturing Information (PMI) Wave links
Promote Body Wave links
Wave links created using Routing Objects geometry
