Benefit
Enables traceability and reconfiguration for variant revisions by extending the lists of variant versions available for actions to include the latest version. Also streamlines the process of introducing a new variant revision.
Additional Details
The list of available variants is extended to include the latest version to better support Assemble-To-Stock (ATS) and Assemble-To-Order (ATO) methodologies. The ability to use or regenerate, through the update action, is available consistent with other variant versions. Regeneration updates the variant BOM based upon the configurable module structure and logic.
Additionally, the ability to revise a variant to generate a new revision is introduced. It must be valid to revise the selected variant and the user must be authorized to create a new revision. The resulting revision becomes a variant.
