在 Windchill 中管理 Creo Illustrate 所用的 3D 源数据时，其常规机制是充分利用创建的插图源文件 (PVZ)。Windchill 会通过源 CAD 数据后发布存储在 Windchill 中的一阶对象 (源文件)。Creo Illustrate 会链接到这一后发布的源文件。Creo Illustrate 文件和已发布的输出会被检入到 Windchill 中。Creo Illustrate 与 Windchill 之间的连接是通过 Creo Illustrate UI 和直接连接来管理的。Windchill 端的配置是通过 Windchill Visualization Services 来处理的。
