Selecting a Change Configuration Specification
A Change configuration specification filter displays parts associated to the change notices that are in various states. It displays the parts based on the availability of the resulting objects.
Use the following steps to define a Change configuration specification filter:
1. Click the
Edit Filter icon in the
Structure tab toolbar. The
Edit Filter window is displayed.
2. Select the Configuration Specification tab.
3. Select Change from the Choose a Type drop-down list.
4. Choose one of the following two radio button choices to select a baseline to use for filtering:
◦ Show Change Notices For – Choose this option to select a change notice for the part. By default, it displays the part for which you have opened the
Structure tab. To select a different part in the structure, click
Change and then the advanced search
icon. When the desired part is selected, select a change notice from the list. The table beneath the list contains all change notices that are associated with the affected object. Select one change notice to use as the part structure filter.
◦ Search Change Notices – Choose this option if you know the name or number of the change notice to be used for filtering. Enter the name or number of the change notice in the text entry field, or click the advanced search
icon to search for a change notice.
5. Click Add to include the new change notice configuration specification filter in the To Be Applied table in the right pane. Position the new configuration specification filter in the desired order using the up and down arrows to the right of the table.
6. Click OK to apply the changes, and close the Edit Filter window.
After you have applied the change configuration specification filter, the part structure displays the part versions. The applied configuration specification is available in Current Filter, and Multi-Level BOM.
You can save the configuration specification in the Save Filter and view it in the Compare to Part Structure.
