Departments
The Departments tab displays the department data objects associated with the plant data objects selected in the upstream or downstream structure pane. The department data objects displayed in this tab depends on the plant configuration specification and plant filter criteria applied on the part structure. For more information on plant filter, see Overview of Plant Configuration Specification and Plant Filter.
By default, the table in this tab displays information about the common attributes of the department data objects. You can customize the table view to also display the soft attributes for each object. The values of soft attributes are editable, but the values of master attributes are not editable.
Use the 
action to create department data objects for the selected plant data object. This action opens the New Department Information window, where you can specify the details for the new department data object. For more information, see Creating Department Data from Windchill.

After the required edits are complete, check in the object to save the updates.
