Managing Deleted Occurrences
Child parts that have been removed disappear from the part structure. However, the system keeps track of deleted part occurrences and their relationship to CAD document structures. You can modify the build status of a deleted part occurrence, before or after the build has occurred, using Manage Deleted Occurrences. Use this capability to see what occurrences have been deleted and to decide how deleted occurrences impacts future build operations.
To change the build status of a deleted part occurrence:
1. Select the assembly part having the deleted part occurrence in the part tree on the Structure tab.
2. Select > from the right-click menu for the assembly part.
The Deleted CAD Synchronized Occurrences window is displayed showing all part occurrences in the assembly that have been deleted.
3. The Remove from CAD Assembly column shows the build status of the deleted occurrences. Toggle the build status of deleted part occurrences between Excluded and To Be Built using the drop-down menu in the Remove from CAD Assembly column of each part occurrence row.
◦ Excluded – This status causes the deleted occurrence to be ignored when a build operation is performed. The deleted part occurrence does not cause the related CAD model occurrence to be deleted from the CAD structure.
◦ To Be Built – This status causes the related CAD model occurrence to be deleted from the CAD model structure.
4. Click Close to commit your changes.
The changes in build status are reflected in the CAD document structure the next time a build operation is performed.
Undeleting a Deleted Occurrence
You must remove an occurrence from the Deleted CAD Synchronized Occurrences window and rebuild the CAD structure from the part structure in order to include the previously deleted occurrence in both structures.
To remove a deleted occurrence:
• Select an occurrence in the
Deleted CAD Synchronized Occurrences window and click the remove
icon at the top of the table to remove a deleted occurrence.
