• A design context can only be created from a configuration context that is filtered using a Latest, Unit Effectivity, or Date Effectivity configuration specification.
• The system will create rules in the Design Context corresponding to the use of its image associated part in the Configuration Context if preference > > is set to Yes. The default value is Yes.
• The system can include in the Design Context CAD Documents that are not related to Parts if preference > > is set to No. The default value is Yes.

• The configuration context must be checked in for the New/Update action to be available. • The New/Update action is only available when the Show New Design Context Action preference is set to Yes. The default value is No. |

Context | The product or library where the new design context is created. Choose a context from the drop-down list or search by clicking on the find icon. The default choice is the context where the configuration context was created. | ||
Organization ID | The globally unique organization identifier to be associated with the new configuration context. Depending on the settings at your site, this field may be labeled CAGE Code or may not appear. For more information about Organization ID, see Object Attributes. | ||
Authoring Application | Select the authoring application from the drop-down list. The selected application is used to modify the data in the design context.

Type | Select the CAD data type from the drop-down list. | ||
Template Name | Select the name of a template to use in creating the design context. When the template is chosen, an Attributes section appears.

Number | Contains the design context number. This number is most often generated by the system and cannot be changed. | ||
Name | Enter a name for the design context. The default name is the same as the configuration context name. | ||
File Name | A name for the CAD data file that references the design context members. The File Name can be entered using the text entry field or set equal to the value of the Number attribute by selecting the Same As Number checkbox. Same As Number is checked by default.

Description | Enter a description to help identify the new design context. | ||
Location | Choose Autoselect Folder or Select Folder. The default for the Select Folder choice is the root folder in the context. Click on the set folder icon to select a different folder location. | ||
Workspace | Select a workspace from the drop-down list.

The workspace content includes the CAD models in the design context plus a new CAD assembly model for the design context itself. |
