Using the Sequence Structure Tab
The Structure tab within the sequence information page contains tools for displaying and editing sequence structures. The tab is divided into two sections, the actions toolbar, and the sequence structure panes.
Actions Toolbar
The actions toolbar appears just below the sequence identity and Actions menu. The actions in the toolbar are divided into sections called action sets.
*
More space for structure information can be made available by collapsing the toolbar. Click the collapse icon on the right side, just below the toolbar.
The following table provides an overview of the actions available in the toolbar:
Action Set
Actions
Editing
Actions that modify the structure. Actions include inserting, deleting and editing object and relationship attributes. For more information, see Editing Action Set - Parts.
Check Out/In
Includes Check Out, Check In, and Undo Checkout. These actions reserve or release the right to modify objects. Also contains the My Checkouts action to display objects checked out to you. For more information, see The Check Out/In Action Set - Parts.
Viewing
Actions that change the information displayed in structures.The Playback Actions feature allows you to view the parts that are used in operations and sequences in the order that they are used in a process plan. These parts are displayed in the Visualization window of a process plan Structure tab. For more information see Viewing a Process Plan Playback.
New/Add To
Actions that create new objects from selected objects in the structure tab on the information page. Also allows selected objects in the structure to be added to baselines, packages, promotion requests, or projects.
Filter
Actions to view and edit the filters used to display the structure. For more information, see Viewing Filters.
Tree Picker
Use the tree picker to link items together. For example, the tree picker allows you to select an assembly that related to the process plan displayed in the Process Plan Browser tree. When the assembly is selected, its structure is displayed in the tree picker, from which you can drag and drop parts onto the process plan as part allocations. Additionally, the related assembly is displayed in a 3D viewer at the bottom of the tree picker. For more information see Using the Tree Picker.
Related Assembly Filter
Allows you to view and edit the filters that are used to display related assemblies. Only assemblies that match the selected filter criteria will be available for display and part allocation.
Tools
Actions that allow you to compare structures or open structures in other applications such as Creo View.
Reports
The Reports action provides the ability to generate the standard structure reports contained in the drop-down menu.
The Export action provides the ability to export the structure information to your workstation in the file formats contained in the drop-down menu.
Sequence Structure Panes
The area below the toolbar is divided into panes. Either two or three panes appear depending on the Display option you have selected under the Viewing actions set. The left-most pane displays the sequence structure. .
The other panes contain information, organized into tabs, about the sequence that is selected in the sequence structure pane. The following table describes the tabs and the information they contain:
Tab
Description
Attributes
Displays important attribute information about the sequence. For more information about the attributes displayed in this tab, see attributes.
Documentation
From the Documentation tab, you view, add, change, or remove document associations. For more information see Documentation Tab.
Visualization
The visualization tab shows all the parts allocated in the process plan and highlights the parts allocated in the selected operation. However, in Playback mode only a subset of the parts dependent on the current operation in the playback is displayed. This is highlighted in a different color in the structure.
*
The visualization tab is hidden when using Windchill on the Macintosh operating system.
Displays graphic images of all objects with published geometry generated from CAD models, or if the parts have a representation that is visible in Creo View. Selecting the image of an object expands the object structure and highlights the object in the structure pane, selecting an object in the structure pane highlights the same object in the Visualization tab.
*
You must have Automatically Select from Structure to Visualization and Automatically Select from Visualization to Structure set using the Toggle the automatic selection preference icon at the top of the visualization pane. These preferences are turned off by default.
Work Center Allocation
Displays a list of plants associated with the sequence. Can then be used to visualize assembly lines, costing areas, work center groups and can also be used to allocate operations.
Uses
Displays the allocated parts that have been allocated to the operation.
Part Allocation
Displays the parts and operated on parts that have been allocated to the operation. A icon designates a part as being operated on.
Processing Resources
Displays the resource associations that have been made with the operation.
