Working with Alternate Units
The Alternate Units tab displays a list of Alternate Units for an object. Alternate units are a way of defining a different unit for an object other than its default unit. For example, for a part that has a default unit of “each”, you can define an alternate unit of “box”, where one box is equal to five parts.
*
To enable Alternate Units you must first set the Alternate Units Tab Display preference. This preference can be found in the Preference Management, at the Site level, by navigating to PSE/MPMLink specific preferences.
Alternate units can be applied to the following objects:
Parts
Process Plans
Operations
Sequences
The Alternate Units tab attributes that appear in the table are described below:

The name of the alternate unit being used for the selected object.

The original designation for the unit; for example, if a part has a default unit of “each” the numerator could be one.
Denominator
The alternate designation for the unit; for example, if a part has a default unit of “each” the denominator for the alternate box unit could be five. The alternate unit of one box then, would be equivalent to five parts.
