Orphan Allocated Parts
Orphan allocated parts are parts that have been allocated to an operation but do not have a related assembly path. This causes inconsistencies in the Process Plan structure.
Orphan allocated parts can appear when:
The related assembly, with parts that have been already consumed in the Process Plan, has been removed from the Process Plan.
The child path of an assembly that has been consumed in a Process Plan has been deleted. For example, if a section of the related assembly has been deleted.
Viewing Orphan Allocated Parts
To view orphan allocated parts select a process plan or operation and click Generate Inconsistency Report . This action is available in the Reports menu, as well as from the right-click menu.
*
To highlight inconsistencies in the Process Plan Browser structure, set the following preference: PSE > MPMLink Specific Preferences > Process Plan Browser > Highlight Inconsistencies in Structure.
When enabled the root node of the orphan allocated part, and the operation to which it is allocated, are highlighted in the structure. Note that generating an orphan part report may take a significant amount of time and resources.
Removing Orphan Allocated Parts
You can remove orphan allocated parts in several ways:
By navigating to the Operations Information Page, selecting the Related tab and removing the parts from the Allocated Parts table.
By right—clicking an operation in the Process Plan Browser, and selecting Editing > Remove Orphan Part Allocations.
