Other actions when dealing with a large list of objects are available with an optimized system jscript.dll delivered via Microsoft Hotfix 919237 or Microsoft Hotfix 942840 (both compatible with Internet Explorer 6.0) or upgrading to Internet Explorer 7.0 or installing Windows XP SP3 or installing Windows Script 5.7 or installing Windows Vista and by setting the Windows registry settings.
Installing the hotfix (for IE6.0 systems) or installing IE 7.0 or installing Windows XP SP3 or installing Windows Script 5.7 and then setting the registry entries documented in this section will benefit all Windows clients on all Windchill releases (6.2, 7.0, 8.0, 9.0 and later releases).
This hotfix is applicable to both a standalone Internet Explorer 6.0 web browser and the embedded Internet Explorer 6.0 web browser within Pro/ENGINEER Wildfire/Creo and Windchill Workgroup Manager.
The hotfix provides the most benefit when working with larger sets of objects (1000+ objects).
The registry entries described in this section are necessary in all environments for all Internet Explorer releases on Windows platforms (that is, install the hotfix and set the registry entries or install Internet Explorer 7.0 and set the registry entries or Install Windows XP SP3 and set the registry entries or Install Windows Script 5.7 and set the registry entries).
The jscript.dll performance fixes are included in Internet Explorer 7.0, Windows XP SP3, Microsoft Script 5.7, and Windows Vista, so if running one of these configurations, installing either hotfix is not necessary.
Regardless of how a fix is obtained, the Windows Registry settings from this section must to be made in all cases.
