If the wt.property, allow.export.to.add.to.Workspace, is set to true, users of the Windchill Workgroup Manager for CATIA V5 can select one or more CAD models from the Folders page or Search Results table in Windchill and export them (and their dependants) to some location on the file system. The export action adds the collected objects to a temporary workspace and then exports to the selected location using the Export CAD Documents page. This commonspace export action is available from the context (RMB) menu of the CAD document (Folders, Search Results, and commonspace information pages), as well as the Actions menu on the Folders and commonspace information page. Following are important points about the export functionality.

• The Export CAD Document page provides access to configuration specification on the Basic and Advanced tabs.

• The objects selected are added to a temporary workspace and then exported to the specified file directory.

• No CATIA V5 session can be linked to the Windchill Workgroup Manager.

• You must use the Folders or Search Results page from the Windchill Workgroup Manager with a workspace already activated.

• If the already active workspace is empty (no CAD documents populated or checked out into it), it will be used for the Export action and then cleared after the process is completed.

• If the active workspace is populated with at least one CAD document:

◦ A temporary workspace is created

◦ The temporary workspace is activated in the Windchill Workgroup Manager session

◦ The Export operation is performed through the temporary workspace

◦ The temporary workspace is cleared, deactivated, and deleted.

◦ The initially active workspace is reactivated.

• Export from folder list will only be valid from contexts compatible with the active workspace.

• If Add to Workspace fails, the Export action fails.

• If Export action fails, the temporary workspace or active workspace will be cleaned up.

• When Search Results contain multiple iterations of the same object, only the latest iteration is added to workspace. The other iterations are ignored, and a message is given, saying that only the latest iteration will be exported.
