Example—Create or Update the WWGMTK_MODEL_NAME User Environment Variable
Use the WWGMTK_MODEL_NAME user environment variable to test the Windchill server, or client-side authoring application updates after creating an API concerning the model name. This variable must reside on the same machine as the Windchill Workgroup Manager client.
Once the initial user environment variable WWGMTK_MODEL_Name is created, it can be modified with a different variable value in the Variable value field whenever you want to test a different API update for the model name. The user environment variable should contain the full path to the DLL.
Creating the User Environment Variable WWGMTK_MODEL_NAME
Perform the following steps to create the WWGMTK_MODEL_NAME user environment variable:
1. Close the authoring application, if it is connected to Windchill.
2. Close Windchill Workgroup Manager, if it is running.
3. From the System Properties window of your computer, select the Advanced tab and click Environment Variables.
4. In the user variables section, click New to add a new user environment variable.
5. In the New User Variable window:
a. Enter WWGMTK_MODEL_NAME in the Variable name field.
b. Enter the variable value in the Variable value field.
c. Click OK.
6. Launch the Windchill Workgroup Manager client.
7. If applicable, start the authoring application.
8. Test the application.
9. Check the results.
Changing the User Environment Variable WWGMTK_MODEL_NAME Variable Value
Perform the following steps to update the variable value for the WWGMTK_MODEL_NAME user environment variable:
1. Close the authoring application, if it is connected to Windchill.
2. Close Windchill Workgroup Manager, if it is running.
3. From the System Properties window of your computer, select the Advanced tab and click Environment Variables.
4. In the user variables section, select the WWGMTK_MODEL_NAME user environment variable and click Edit.
5. In the Edit User Variable window:
a. Enter the variable value in the Variable value field.
b. Click OK.
6. Launch the Windchill Workgroup Manager client.
7. If applicable, start the authoring application.
8. Test the application.
9. Check the results.
