• Non-file-based attribute - A Windchill attribute that is not visible or modifiable in the authoring application. Although its value can be added, modified, or deleted through the Windchill user interface, it is not passed to the CAD parameter, and therefore is not accessible in the authoring application.

• File-based attribute - A Windchill attribute that you can edit only from the authoring application, and that information is passed between Windchill and NX. In NX, you can only edit file-based attributes.
