Check Out
In order to modify a CAD document which exists in the Windchill Workspace, you must check out the document. Check Out reserves the CAD document in the Commonspace for that particular user, preventing other users from checking-in changes for the same CAD document. It creates a working copy of the document in your Workspace, which holds your changes until you check in the document.
You can access the Check Out command either in the Windchill Workgroup Manager client or in Autodesk Inventor.
• To access Check Out in Autodesk Inventor, click > .
• To access
Check Out in the client, select the object and then, click > . Alternatively, you can right-click the object and on the context menu, click
Check Out, or click
in the Toolbar or in the
Action column.
| Windchill supports checking out a non-latest iteration of a CAD document, and the subsequent checking in of that iteration marks it as the latest iteration.
