Windchill Integrations for Embedded Software Capabilities
Windchill Integrations for Embedded Software is an extension of the Windchill product life management enterprise-based system.
The out-of-the-box (OOTB) software contains the tools for managing hardware and software artifacts. It also includes Windchill Integration for Integrity, Windchill Integration for Software Build Tools, and Windchill Integration for Eclipse.
In addition to the OOTB capabilities, the following integrations can be added to the Windchill Integrations for Embedded Software framework:
• Windchill Integration for Bugzilla
• Windchill Integration for IBM Rational ClearCase
• Windchill Integration for Atlassian JIRA
• Windchill Integration for Subversion
Windchill Integrations for Embedded Software architecture uses the Windchill Info*Engine product, a web-based adapter manager and integration platform with the ability to interface with third-party Software Configuration Management Systems, Defect Tracking Systems, and Build and Release Management systems as presented in the following diagram.
As shown above, Web Services are used to pull external system defects or source files directly from Windchill, with the ability to associate and package this data as Windchill objects.
Windchill Integrations for Embedded Software architecture is also equipped with an extensive set of PTC developed plug-ins. These plug-ins enable the user to activate typical tasks. For example: (1) viewing Windchill tasks from a third-party plug-in like Eclipse, (2) pulling a Build object to Windchill from a Software Configuration Management System like Subversion, or (3) viewing defects in Windchill from a Defect Tracking System like Integrity.
