Customizing Context Associations to an Adapter
This procedure explains how to customize the context associations to an IBM Rational ClearCase adapter.
For information about the type of context associations adapters can have, see
Managing Context Associations to Adapters.
1. From > , > , or > select Adapters Administration in the System Administration section of the page to open the Adapters Administration window.
2. In the
Adapter Definition table, select the
IBM Rational ClearCase adapter and click
Associate Objects to open the
Adapter Associations window.
| The Adapter Associations window lists the Adapter Name and Adapter Type of the adapter. The Adapter Associations table lists the context associations of the adapter that your Windchill Site or Organization administrator set up for the IBM Rational ClearCase adapter. |
3. In the Adapter Associations table, click the Reference Type pull-down list for a selected context.
a. Select All to associate all available views of the adapter for this context. Go to step 5 if you want to configure a view or a config spec. Otherwise, go to step 6.
b. Select View to associate one or more views of the adapter for this context. Go to step 4.
c. Select Config Spec, if you want to add, customize, or remove the config spec for the adapter. Go to step 5.
4. If you selected View in step 3:
a. Click
Configure Views in the
Default reference Object field of the selected context to open the
Views Specification window.
b. Select one or more views you want to associate with this context.
c. When finished, click OK to load and save your selections. The Adapter Associations window opens.
d. Click OK to load and save the selections. The Adapters Administration window opens.

b. Enter the following information:
Action | Description |
Name | Enter a unique name for the configuration specification. The configuration specification name can have alphanumeric, dot, dash, and underscore characters only. | When creating multiple adapter config specs, do not use identical config spec names. This results in not being able to differentiate between multiple config specs in the system. |
|
Description | Enter a description for the config spec. |
Label | Add IBM Rational ClearCase adapter version labels by typing the name of the label in the Labels table and clicking Add . Repeat for each label you want to assign to this configuration specification. | The Labels table is essentially an ordered list of labels. You enter which labels you want to use for the adapter config spec. The system does not currently check with IBM Rational ClearCase to ensure that the entered label names are valid. Therefore you must verify that the entered label names are correct. An incorrectly entered label name possibly returns no results when browsing IBM Rational ClearCase from Windchill If you are working with multiple labels, the labels towards the top of the list take precedence over the labels toward the bottom of the list. If several labels reference different versions of the same object, then the object version referenced by the highest label on the list is used. |
|
c. To change the order of the labels in the list, select the label to reposition. Click the action in the Labels table.

Action | Description |
| Moves the label to the top of the table. |
