An administrator is responsible for setting up the workers that are used for publishing and generating viewables on the Windchill server. The worker agent configuration file is updated using the Worker Agent Administration on the Utilities menu. Workers can be configured to use FTP to transfer files to and from the worker machine; the worker agent configuration file stores these FTP passwords. To locate this administrative tool, navigate to Site > Utilities > Worker Agent Administration.

The location of the worker agent configuration file is defined in the cadagent.inifile property. The out-of-the-box wvs.properties file includes the cadagent.inifile property, and that property identifies the worker agent configuration file as agent.ini.

Initially, each authentication file created contains user names and plain-text passwords for workers that support file synchronization.
