Setting a Proximity Rule
Spatial rules use volumetric information to determine what components to display or hide in a CAD document structure. Spatial rules can be used in conjunction with other rules and filters to reduce the structure display to only those portions that are relevant to a specific design task.
To define a proximity spatial rule:
1. Select the spatial rule icon
on the
Visualization tab, and then select
Set Proximity Spatial Rule.
The Set Proximity Spatial Rule window opens with the selected part name, number, and version displayed in the Part field.
2. Enter 0 or a positive real number in the Proximity field.
The proximity volume is enlarged in all directions using this number.
3. By default, components that are partially within the proximity volume are included in the structure. Select Remove items that are partially outside the proximity region to include only those components that are completely within the proximity volume.
4. Click OK.
The rule is applied to the part structure and the Set Proximity Spatial Rule window is dismissed.
