WindchillInfo*Engine tasks are stored in the <Windchill>/tasks directory. If you customize any of the task files, they could be overwritten during a maintenance installation if PTC must update the same task files.

To prevent overwriting modified tasks, you should utilize the safe area procedures that are described in Setting Up a Directory Structure for Managing Customized Files and Text Tailoring. For example, if you needed to modify a task in the tasks/com/ptc/windchill/enterprise directory, first put the original PTC version in the wtSafeArea/ptcOrig/tasks/com/ptc/windchill/enterprise directory and your modified version would go into the wtSafeArea/siteMod/tasks/com/ptc/windchill/enterprise directory.
