For security requirements, it may be necessary to configure a separate reverse proxy system to respond to Windchill requests for external users and to direct internal users directly to the Windchill system. Split DNS can be used to accomplish this goal. As long as both systems are configured with the same host name, external users can be directed to a reverse proxy system and internal users can be directed to the internal systems directly.
