Post Upgrade Steps for Windchill Integrations for Embedded Software
Perform the following steps:
1. Reconfigure the ClearCase adapter on the ClearCase client machine by downloading the cc.zip file from the target system.
To download the cc.zip file, open the Windchill home page and navigate to > > . The file, by default, will be downloaded to <Windchill>/codebase/downloads/sw_link/cc.zip.
This is required to start out-of-process ClearCase adapters irrespective of whether the adapter was installed new or cloned.
2. After downloading the ZIP file, update the following properties in the startCCAdapter.bat file:
◦ IEPROFILE
◦ IENAMINGSERVICE
◦ ADAPTER_NAME (For upgraded/updated ClearCase adapter, the name should be picked from the source system)
◦ ADAPTER_HOME
◦ JAVA_HOME
3. If cc.zip has not started, the adapter status is “Not Responding”. This means that the adapter is created, but it is not ready for use.
There are some differences to note for test and production upgrades. For example, source ClearCase adapters are configured to the production ClearCase server and you do not want to access the production ClearCase server during test upgrades. If ClearCase adapters are configured for a production server, it will try to retrieve some read-only information (properties) whenever the adapter is being accessed. Otherwise, it will not communicate with the server. Windchill only accesses ClearCase in a read-only mode. Nothing different needs to be done for a test upgrade.
