In addition to system defaults and actions that are available in the user interface, you can use mapping rules and policy files to control Windchill import and export processes. Mapping rules specify modifications to be made to the XML import or export files, while XSL-based policy files specify actions to be performed on the attribute data of database objects during import or export. Mapping rules can be used with either the import or export actions in the user interface or with policy files, but not both, during a transaction.
