Rules for Assembling an Instance
Consider this information on assembling SOLIDWORKS configurations as components in a SOLIDWORKS assembly:
• If the SOLIDWORKS Configuration to be assembled has not been exposed to Windchill as an instance, the assembly structure in Windchill shows a reference to the generic CAD document that contains the Configuration.
• If the SOLIDWORKS Configuration to be assembled has been exposed to Windchill as an instance, the assembly structure in Windchill shows a reference to the instance CAD document.
