This section describes the Open action available from PTC Mathcad.

The Open action opens a worksheet in PTC Mathcad. When you select this action, Open looks to the your local directory and allows you to open objects in the workspace. It only shows objects that reside on the local directory.

By default, the system first looks at the files in your local managed directory. When you are connected to the Windchill Workgroup Manager, the dialog box defaults to the Primary Active Workspace. From either location, you can navigate to any folder accessible by your local machine. You can also access files from the Workspace Local Directory or your registered Windchill server’s commonspace. To navigate through the commonspace, you must select PTC Places from the Shortcut pane in the PTC MathcadFile > Open dialog box.

You can also open a file from Windchill Cabinets from the My Computer location in the Open Look in: drop-down list.

The next graphic illustrates the workflow for Open.

When there is no primary server, and primary activated workspace, Open looks at the last browsed location accessed. You can browse to locate the object you want to open.

Open is available on the File menu in PTC Mathcad.

Information that is modified in Windchill is updated when it is opened from a workspace. When you change a parameter in a PTC Mathcad worksheet – for example, the file name — the Windchill attribute also changes and becomes the default for PTC Mathcad.
