Using Security Labels
*
This section is only applicable if your site has enabled security labels.
This section provides details on how to apply and manage security labels in Windchill. Security labels can be managed as follows:
When creating objects that support security labels, a user can change the security label values from within the set of steps presented during the creation by selecting the desired security label value from the drop-down list or by entering the desired security label value in the text box.
After an object is created, a user can modify the security label values currently set on the object if the following criteria are met:
The user must have Modify Security Labels permission on the object.
The user must be an authorized participant for the security label value if the following are true:
A custom evaluator class has not been configured for the standard security label value or the custom security label.
A custom evaluator class has been configured, but the isAllowedToModifySecurityLabelValue method was not overridden.
*
Users authorized via an agreement cannot modify the security label value.
If a custom evaluator class has been configured for the standard security label value or the custom security label and the isAllowedToModifySecurityLabelValue method has been overridden, the method must return true for the user.
After an object is created, you can view the access information for the object for a particular participant, including whether that participant is restricted from accessing the object by a security label.
