Usage Considerations for Include Linked Parts on The Other Side Check box
The table that follows covers few scenarios about using the Include linked parts on the other side check box in the Quick Filter dialog box. The prerequisites and recommendations that apply for using the Include linked parts on the other side check box are:
Prerequisites
Parts are selected from the locations specified in the Opening Parts in BOM Transformer.
Include linked parts on the other side check box is selected.
Recommendations
When setting criteria in Parent Context, specify values in the Parent Context text boxes in the upstream and downstream sections.
When you select the Include linked parts on the other side check box, the time required to complete the execution of Include linked parts on the other side action depends on the number of parts in the structure. It may take an extended amount of time for the action to execute in case of large BOM structures.

In the Smart Collection list, you selected a smart collection that contains parts from upstream view.
The trimmed structure containing parts that are common between the selected parts and the parts in the smart collection appear in the upstream tree structure. The equivalent parts of these common parts appear in downstream tree structure.

In the Smart Collection list, you selected a smart collection that contains parts from both upstream and downstream views.

You entered values in both the Parent Context text boxes.
The trimmed structure containing selected parts that belong to the parent parts specified in the Parent Context fields of Quick Filter dialog box appear in the upstream and downstream tree structure. The equivalent parts of these common parts appear in upstream and downstream tree structures.
No value specified in one of the Parent Context text boxes.
The text box for which no Parent Context was specified, the tree structure for that view is blank.
